Principals Day Out - 8th May

Grow Mid Canterbury was thrilled and very excited about bringing the Principals Day Out to Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury secondary schools. A great deal of planning and organisation went into this day. It would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, their support enabled us to cater for our educational providers with an enlightening and informative day.
Principals were treated to a flight in the Southern DC3 over Mid and South Canterbury during which principals received an in-flight commentary on the vast range of crops and land  while viewing the RDR and some key points of interest. Principals learnt how agriculture impacts our community, school and students. Five Star Beef, Carr Agricultural Group and South Pacific Seeds opened their doors for us, so principals could experience first hand their industries in a manner which was not only informative and interesting but also stimulating, entertaining and a fun experience.
Lunch saw a story unfold as local meat and produce was enjoyed while hearing the amazing story of the food production chain in Canterbury.
A range of speakers with exciting careers gave presentations with a particular emphasis on the extensive future career opportunities for students while giving a vision and the enthusiasm to pass this on to  fellow board members, teachers and students.

Feedback from Princiapls on the key points of the day has been overwhelming and can also be viewed here along with a press release on the day
Check back regularly as a Dvd will be available to view online, this will not only show the fun day that was had but also all of the important presentations and career opportunities
