Rob has a background in finance, banking and business. He is a former bank manager, commercial finance manager and self employed businessman. For 16 years Rob operated a private consultancy business, providing business and finance advice. Rob is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Certified Financial Planner and an Accredited Member of the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association. Glenda joined the Agency in August 2004 in the position of Business Broker, responsible for facilitating the comprehensive "Enterprise Training" programme and also assisting start-up and recently established businesses. Glenda has lived in the District for the past 30 years and comes from a banking and rural background. She had worked as a fire and general insurance broker since 1990 and established Ashburton Insurance Brokers and created a very successful company that she sold to Holmes Insurance Brokers in 2001. This experience has proved invaluable to the success of her current role and a large number of Ashburton District companies have benefited from her business skills and affinity to her clients. Rachel works with youth from Ashburton College, Mt Hutt College and the wider community as an advocate in finding suitable employment and future careers for the young people of Ashburton District. Because the Youth Broker is networking with the business community to source employment, positions are matched with suitable clients. Rachel's focus is on attracting more youth to trades locally. She has initiated the annual Industry Training Graduation ceremony in Ashburton for all graduating industry trainees. The Youth Broker position is funded by WINZ and has proved to be a very successful pilot programme for New Zealand.
