Owner of Rakaia based Pluck's Engineering, specialising in agriculture engineering and irrigation equipment. Neil is actively involved in various community groups in Rakaia and also tutors adult engineering studies at Ashburton College.
Phillip Quaid - B.Com
Partner of local Chartered Accountancy firm Gabities Sinclair & Partners. Phillip is a director of a number of local private companies.
Peter Townsend
Chief Executive of Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce. Peter has a BSc [Hons] Zoology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Peter is actively involved at a policy level with the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Business New Zealand, both of which the Employers' Chamber is affiliated to. He is a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and the Institute of Directors. Peter is also the Honorary Consul of Chile.
Jill Quaid
Owner/operator of the local First National Real Estate franchise. Jill has extensive real estate knowledge and is active in community events.
Kelvin Holmes
Operates a Fire & General Insurance brokering business in the Ashburton district. Kelvin is heavily involved in various community organisations and is a District Councillor.
Brendon Adam - CA,B.Com & Dip Grad
A partner with the accountancy firm Brophy Knight Ltd. Originally from Southland Brendon settled in Ashburton in 2001 and has sporting interests in rugby, golf and squash.
Dave Dynes
Owner/operator of a mechanical repair workshop, Dave Dynes Ltd in Methven and co-owner of a bus company, Methven Travel Ltd. Dave has been on the board of trustees for Mt Hutt College for several years. Family and community are important parts of Dave's life.
Robert Newlands
Robert is the Owner and Managing Director of Newlands Group Ltd who specialise in auto electrical services, parts and manufacturing. Robert is also Managing Director of Nico International Ltd who manufacture connector clips for the local and export market. Robert is born and bred in Ashburton, married with 2 sons and his interests include running and mountain biking.
John Van Polanen
John and his wife Joanne are successful dairy farmers at Winchmore near Methven. John is a keen athlete and has competed in many events including the iconic Coast to Coast. John is the Chair of the Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation Scheme.
